Saint-Gobain MARISEAL 250W Polyurethane Waterproofing Membrane Liquid
MARISEAL 250W is a one-component, water-based, liquid polyurethane waterproofing membrane. It's designed for cold application and curing, forming a seamless, elastic membrane that provides long-lasting waterproofing. This product is based on the innovative PUD (Polyurethane Dispersion) Technology of MARIS POLYMERS SMSA, contributing to its advanced performance and environmental benefits. It's formulated to be environmentally friendly, with low VOC content. It cures through a reaction with atmospheric moisture, adhering well to various substrates. MARISEAL 250W is particularly suitable for applications on roofs, balconies, and terraces, offering excellent resistance to weathering, UV radiation, and typical environmental conditions. Its water-based formulation, enhanced by PUD Technology, makes it an ideal choice for projects where environmental considerations are paramount, while still delivering robust and reliable waterproofing performance.
Consumption: 1.4-2.8 kg/m2 in two or three layers

- 25 years expected working life.
How to use
- The substrate must be clean, dry, and free from any contaminants that could hinder adhesion (dust, grease, loose particles, etc.).
- Repair any cracks, holes, or uneven surfaces before applying the membrane.
- Priming is generally required, especially on porous surfaces like concrete. Use the appropriate MARISEAL water-based primer as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Ensure the primer is fully cured before applying MARISEAL 250W.
- While it's water-based, excessive standing water should be avoided. The surface should be damp free.
- Thoroughly stir MARISEAL 250W before use to ensure a homogeneous mixture.
- Apply using a brush, roller, or airless spray. Airless spray is most efficient for large areas.
- Apply in multiple thin layers to achieve the recommended total thickness. Always adhere to the manufacturer's specified application rates.
- In areas prone to movement (corners, joints), reinforce with a suitable polyester fleece or fabric, embedding it into the wet membrane.
- Ensure adequate overlapping of layers to create a continuous, seamless membrane.
- Be mindful of the product's working time, as it begins to cure upon exposure to air.
- MARISEAL 250W cures by reacting with atmospheric moisture. Curing time is influenced by temperature and humidity.
- Allow sufficient curing time before exposing the membrane to water or traffic.
- Protect the freshly applied membrane from rain, dust, and other contaminants during the curing phase.
- Inspect the cured membrane for any defects or thin spots.
- A topcoat may be applied for added protection or aesthetic purposes, as directed by the manufacturer.
Important Considerations:
- Always consult the MARISEAL 250W technical data sheet and application guide for precise instructions.
- Pay close attention to temperature and humidity, as these factors can significantly impact curing time.
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection, etc.).
- Because it is water based, the product and primer must be protected from freezing.
