Kubala Plastic Float With X-Shaped Block Cut Washboy Sponge is a 140mm X 280mm plastic float with x-shaped block cut washboy sponge with an ergonomic and profiled 2K soft grip used for cleaning tiles after grouting. A washboy sponge is typically used for cleaning and smoothing grout lines during tile installation. It’s designed to absorb excess grout and water, leaving clean joints between tiles. The term “washboy” refers to a container or bucket used to hold water during the grouting process. The “X-shaped” design refers to the pattern of incisions or cuts on the surface of the sponge. These incisions create multiple smaller sections within the sponge. The purpose of this design is to enhance absorbency and improve the effectiveness of the sponge in collecting dirt and grout residue.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • A float for washing tiles after grouting
  • Made from ABS plastic with an ergonomic and profiled 2K soft handle
  • 30mm thick primer hydrophilic sweepex sponge underlay with X-shaped incisions
  • The combined pores ensure increased absorbency of the sponge

How to use

  • Once the grout has set slightly (usually 15-20 minutes), dampen the X-shaped block-cut washboy sponge.
  • Wipe diagonally across the grout lines to remove excess grout.
  • Rinse the sponge frequently to prevent grout buildup.
  • After wiping away most of the excess grout, use a clean, damp sponge to gently clean the tile surface.
  • Be careful not to disturb the grout lines.
