85mm Staifix Insofast Anchor is a one piece metal fastener with a dish profiled head for mechanically securing drywall and insulated plasterboard panels to walls. Increases security in the case of a fire keeping insulation bonded to the board so exit is safe for people inside and entrance safe for fire services. The fire-proof metal fastener has a self-tapping helical shank with work hardened blades able to cut into a wide range of masonry and timber substrates when driven with an adapter powered by a standard SDS hammer drill.
Properties
- Fire-proof mechanical fixing,
- Helical shaft minimises heat loss through cold bridging,
- Countersunk head prevents tearing,
- Dished head retains filler,
- Dependable performance,
- Can be used to replace or to complement dot and dab installation,
- Suitable for fixing into a wide range of construction materials,
- Fixes panels to lightweight block without pre-drilling.
Uses
- The anchor drives directly into aircrete (Celcon, Thermalite, etc.) and into softwood timber.
- Use 5mm pilot hole in brick, concrete block and hardwood.
- Insofast Anchor is suitable for use with all types of insulated drywall boards: dot and dab adhesive - 3 per board, or without it 12 per board, to ensure stability of the boards in the event of a fire.
- Cold bridging is minimised due to thermally efficient spiral shaft that has a cross sectional area just 25% of that of a solid shaft of equal diameter. Also by virtue of a fully countersunk head, which indents into the gyproc layer without tearing.
- Please note that the SDS tool is not included.
